Crazy Fast Update

Okay....so I've been absolutely swamped over the past month and I just had a million things to write about but no time to do it and that list of things to write about keeps growing and then I start putting off blogging because it will take forever, so I'm just going to keep it as short and sweet as possible.

1. I ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon. Okay, I RAN the first 4 miles, I walked until mile 11, I crawled that mile, and then sprinted the last 1.1 miles. But I crossed the finish line, so it totally counts. Moving on.
2. I made some little things. Here is Kate, the Kitten in Britches, made for my neighbor Peggy who watches my kittens while I'm away or knitting on Thursday nights. I also made a Lipstick Sock for Nicole at Imbued, who had a birthday on May 22nd. Happy Late Birthday!
3. I dug my orange sock/ugly without reason sock out of hibernation and started working on it again. I was asked not to knit on the plane because I could impale somebody with my needles. How I wish we had a decent train system in the US.
4. I taught a knitting class! Since I'm such a lace junkie, Susan at A Good Yarn in Sarasota Florida let me teach one of my favorite patterns, Candle Light Shawl by Lucy Robson.
5. I stashed a wee bit after my students all left (Three Irish Girls, color on the right is Gulf of Mexico, made just for Susan's shop, the other color is just pretty. Lorna's Laces sock yarn in the Ysolda colorway, a roving from the Fleece Artist. I love that stuff) 6. I went on a boat trip! My family and some friends of the family went to the British Virgin Islands where we went to the caves that inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write "Treasure Island". Great snorkeling, and we saw the most awesome sting ray ever! We also went to Jost Van Dyke, where I saw a monkey that had a lot to be happy about. I then took the opportunity to give Mr. Happy a knitted warmer. 7. I had a birthday! I turned 22 on Wednesday the 26th on the boat trip. I spent the day sailing rough waters and hurling over the side of the boat. I think I'll opt for dry land next time.

That's about it! I still have lots of things to write about including a really fun swap and a new lace project, but that will have to wait a few more days. Happy Knitting!
