Not knitting!

Okay, that's a lie. But I haven't got anything new to show you. That's also a lie. I started a Swallowtail shawl in Noro Kureyon sock as a tester for Sheree's wedding shawl. The silk laceweight yarn won't be here for another two weeks, so that gives me time to finish a couple other things, like the sock I worked on for an hour last tuesday and haven't touched since. I also think I'm not going to do a Swallowtail for Sheree's shawl, after knitting the first 8 or 9 pattern repeats of Swallowtail, I've decided I need something more riveting. I think I'm going to knit "Gail" from my ravelry queue. I'd tell you more, but I can't be bothered right now. I'm still working on the never-ending purple beast of a stole for my birthday....and it still looks exactly the same as last time I posted a picture. So, for not making up for knitting, I'm going to post some rock-star quality pictures, one of Jaclyn Bailey's new Liam Rhys, and one of a guy crocheting on the tube. I didn't take either picture, but they're too cool to not share.

Non-knitting news:

1. I'm going to ditch my study session on Friday and go to London for a couple days, then to St. Neots and then back here for my 9am monday Lit. final. My dad is doing some work in Birmingham, and he thought it would be fun to meet up with me in London for the weekend. Little does he know, I've booked us to see Chicago, the musical on Friday night. He looked at me funny when I told him to see Wicked, but he then admitted that he really liked it. I hope it will be the same with Chicago. Anyhoo...I'm going to head to London early and run some errands...like pick up some blog prizes, US size 4 circs, a graduation gift for Skippy, and whatever else tickles my fancy. I bought a dress online on Sunday, and I'm really hoping it will be here tomorrow so I don't have to spend the day trying to find a cute dress I can afford in London.

2. Dead and Gone, the 9th Sookie Stackhouse book came out today. Since my dad left yesterday, that obviously didn't work out, and it won't be available in the UK for another couple months. So my options are: Pay $20 on Itunes to have someone read it to me slooooowly, or wait until my mom comes in June and hope that she remembers to bring it. I really can't decide. If I buy it on I-tunes, I'll spend more time reading it, and that's less time spent on reading for finals. However, having it on my Ipod lets me do things like excersize while catching up with my favorite undead characters. Until I run out of batteries. Then I would probably buy it once I got back home and read it again, effectively paying for Sookie twice. While on Itunes, I would probably get the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack because it's awesome (seriously, youtube Jai Ho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLFIOUF_5Ws and if you're not dancing in 30 seconds, there's something wrong with you OR you're just not as crazy about Indian dance as I am) Or I could just wait to get Sookie, ignore all the True blood threads on Ravelry, only buy it once, and save it for the long flight home. It's a tough choice, could somebody please make it for me?

That will be all! I probably won't write until after my Gothic Lit final, but I'll try to get some pictures in London for you guys! Have an awesome day!
